It’s our belief that mealtime was made for socializing. The addition of a bar cart to your home or office is one of the easiest ways to class up a space and encourages mingling while you munch. We never say no to a celebratory cheers at the end of a busy work week and nor should you, and that’s why we’ve put together this easy guide to building your dream bar station to, quite literally, ‘Lift your spirits’.

1. find the cart that fits your needs

Buying a bar cart should be the first thing you check off your shopping list. As the largest piece in this project, all other decorative decisions should be made around the shape and coloring of your cart of choice. There are so many types to choose from and it’s important to pick the right style for your space and needs. If you’re a major entertainer, you’ll want a wider bar cart to serve more people at a time. Or, opt for a multi-tiered cart for tighter spaces. The good news is, there’s no one right answer - pick the piece that suits all your wine wishes.

2. stock up

This one may seem rather obvious, but you can’t have a bar cart without the bar. Now’s the time to add in your favorite alcoholic beverages and mixers. Whether you’re a classy rosé enthusiast or die hard gin fanatic, we recommend having lots of variety available to please even the pickiest guest. Save room for ice buckets, utensils, and napkins.

3. glasses and garnishes

It’s been rumored that the flavor of any drink can change depending on the shape of glass it’s served in. Taller glasses work best for the “slow sippers” of your group who take their time with each drink, while wide glasses are best fit for the “seriously thirsty”. We propose having a pair of each style glass available for your guests to choose from. As well, the addition of lemons or limes to your cart is a great way to intensify the flavour of any drink and adds colour to your presentation. Just make sure you swap them out for fresh ones once they begin to dry out.

4. add your personal touch

Make your cart memorable with your own decorative flare. Fill large gaps with flowers, books, or photo frames, and smaller spaces with straws, coasters, or decorative trinkets. Investing in custom drink tags will help guests be sure they’ve picked up the right glass. Taking the time to make this spot exciting to you makes all the difference.

don’t forget the ‘cherry on top’- a piece of art.

Finish your cart off right by hanging one of your favorite pieces of art above it. Not only does this make the station more aesthetically pleasing but it’s also a great conversation starter.

Now you’re ready to host the greatest gathering, post-global pandemic of course. Not a drinker? Convert any bar cart into a coffee or snack station. We can’t wait to see what you come up with. Make sure to tag us on Instagram in your bar cart masterpiece reveals. Happy drinking!
